IberSpeech 2014

“VIII Jornadas en Tecnología del Habla” and “IV Iberian SLTech Workshop”

19 - 21 November 2014, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain

  • Call for Albayzin 2014 evaluation proposals, deadline April 25th, 2014.

Demo Submission Deadline: September 7, 2014

The IberSpeech 2014 organizers invite submissions for demonstrations. The demonstration track aims at bringing together Academia and Industry working on processing of the Iberian Languages and creating a forum where more than written or spoken descriptions of research are available. Thus, demos should allow participants to try and test them during their presentation in a dedicated session adopting a more informal setting. Products, systems or tools are examples of acceptable demos. Both early-research prototypes and mature systems will be considered for presentation. The areas of interest include all topics related to theoretical and applied issues of written and spoken Iberian languages, such as (but not limited to) the topics listed for the conference paper submission.

Submissions should consist of a non-anonymous brief description document (with up to five (5) pages of content, references not included). Developers must outline the main characteristics of their systems, provide sufficient details to allow its evaluation and give information on how they plan to demonstrate their systems. Developers are encouraged to focus their description on the relevance of the speech and language processing component in the proposed system.  Supporting material, such as videos of the demonstration or direct link to web-based applications are desirable. Description documents should be written in English and submitted to the Demo Special session of the conference submission system.

Accepted demos will be presented on tabletops at a designated demo session with an optional accompanying poster. Developers should make sure they can run their demos properly. Thus, it is authors' responsibility to provide the necessary technical conditions (equipments) for the demo at the conference. Note that the local organizers will not provide any hardware or software. Free high-speed Internet access will be available, both wired and wireless.

Further details on the date, time and awards of the demonstration session(s) will be determined and provided at a later date.
